			<content:encoded><![CDATA[Især hos de store virksomheder er det i dag normalt, at de unge, potentielle medarbejdere tager den første kontakt via Internettet. Det gælder også for den næststørste bank i branchen. På bankens online jobsider kan alle kandidater både give en personlig præsentation af sig selv og kontakte HR-afdelingen, uanset om de søger en praktikantstilling, et trainee-forløb eller fast ansættelse.
	Det er en simpel procedure for både ansøgerne og for Commerzbank, men i det bagvedliggende system stiller det krav til skærpet sikkerhed. En skjult virus i et vedhæftet dokument kunne hurtigt sprede sig til bankens systemer eller slippe igennem et ubeskyttet område. Commerzbank er forberedt på denne trussel. Da banken for få måneder siden tilføjede en portal-løsning for e-rekruttering til deres Unix-baserede SAP-miljø (fordelt over ca. 180 virtuelle partitioner og baseret på Sun Solaris, AIX og Linux operativsystemer), besluttede de at integrere en virusscanner ved samme lejlighed.
	HR-modulet fra SAP gør mange HR-marketing processer betydeligt lettere. Ifølge Vassilios Tsioupas fra SAP-teamet i Commerzbanks IT-afdeling skal virusscanneren forhindre inficerede dokumenter i at komme ind i systemet, fordi brugeren står uden for det sikre netværk. En af de primære årsager til at valget faldt på Aviras AntiVir virusprogram var, at det er certificeret til både Windows og Sun Solaris. Aviras sikkerhedsløsning, som allerede bruges af banken til at beskytte ind- og udgående emails og vedhæftede dokumenter mellem Commerzbank og deres kunder, blev dermed det oplagte valg også for e-rekrutteringsløsningen.
	Ifølge Tsioupas var der flere grunde til at vælge Avira. Først og fremmest finder han antivirusteknologien praktisk; den er nem at installere, hvilket er en stor hjælp i betragtning af de utallige konfigurations- og administrationsopgaver, som Tsioupas og hans team er ansvarlige for. AntiVir er desuden kendetegnet ved en høj genkendelsesfaktor sammenlignet med andre virusscannere. Det høje præstationsniveau er gennem flere år blevet bekræftet af uvildige tests udført af branchebladene. Men det måske vigtigste argument er ifølge Tsioupas: ”Avira er den eneste tyske producent af antivirus-løsninger. Det betyder, at det er den eneste tyske udbyder, hvis løsning er certificeret til SAP. Dette er utrolig vigtigt for Commerzbank.”
	Som eneste tyske udbyder af et certificeret interface med SAP NetWeaver tilbyder Avira sikkerhed i det udvidede SAP-miljø, som går ud over de eksisterende samarbejdsaftaler. Tsioupas udpeger i øvrigt nærheden til udbyderen som endnu en fordel. ”Det er ikke bare lokal support fra tysktalende, som gør dette til en bedre løsning fra Commerzbanks synspunkt. Den korte afstand mellem os og producenten giver nogle enorme fordele. Som brugere kan vi koordinere vores sikkerhedssystemer direkte med softwareproducenten.”
	Siden implementeringen har de indsamlede erfaringer været positive. For at teste systemet lod  Tsioupas hundredevis af simulerede ansøger-emails med bevidst inficerede tekster og præsentationsfiler tjekke af virusscanneren. AntiVir bestod eksamen med topkarakter. Alle de potentielt skadelige filer blev opdaget.
	Efter således at have testet e-rekrutteringsløsningen internt, skulle den udrulles eksternt.  Tsioupas ser allerede nu på andre implementeringsområder for løsningen. Så snart e-rekrutteringen er oppe at køre, vil IT-managerne se på den interne projektplanlægning, hvor den Java-baserede komponent SAP J2EE Engines skal bruges til dokument-workflow af Excel-ark med budgetnumre, -værdier og -betegnelser. ”Faktisk har vi ikke oplevet nogen negative effekter,” forklarer Tsioupas. ”Men som global bank giver vores sikkerhedsbehov os  heller ikke mange valgmuligheder.”]]></content:encoded>

<br /> Prior to implementing Riva, Better Place Australia used the <link http://www.omni-ts.com/newsroom/crm-plugins.html _blank>Salesforce Outlook plug-in</link> to synchronize contact and calendar data. The Outlook plug-in needed to be installed, configured and managed on each executive's BlackBerry, desktop and laptop and offered limited CRM synchronization capabilities. The Outlook plug-in did not offer a very scalable or reliable solution. 
<h3>The Solution</h3>
<br /> Better Place Australia deployed <link http://www.omni-ts.com/crm-integration/ _blank>Riva Integration Server</link> from Omni to overcome the challenges associated with the <link http://www.omni-ts.com/crm-integration/salesforce.html _blank>Salesforce Outlook plug-in</link>.<br /><br /> In contrast to the Salesforce Outlook plug-in, Riva gets installed once at the server level instead of on each user's mobile device, desktop and laptop. The Salesforce administrator then creates a Riva synchronization policy and assigns it to the appropriate user groups in Active Directory. The CRM synchronization policy defines who receives Salesforce synchronization, what gets synchronized, how often synchronization occurs and other advanced integration options. <br /><br /> Once installed, Riva automatically and transparently allows users to access the following Salesforce information from any Microsoft Exchange client, including Outlook, Outlook Web Access, Mac Mail, Entourage, BlackBerry, iPhone and other ActiveSync mobile devices:

These features allow users to drag-and-drop an email from Outlook or a BlackBerry into a special folder in their mail client. This will automatically create the appropriate information in Salesforce. For example, the account, contacts, and related opportunity, case or quote. This saves valuable time. 
<h3>The Results</h3>
<br />Better Place Australia executives now enjoy transparent, bi-directional integration between Salesforce, Outlook and their BlackBerry devices. User adoption has increased significantly. Because Riva runs at the server level, it provides a more scalable integration solution. The synchronization occurs automatically and users no longer need to manually sync items. Salesforce users appreciate the time Riva saves them.

       <br />Infracom, an Italian hosting solutions company and Microsoft partner, was looking for a data center solution to streamline the maintenance and management of its environment, reduce the risk of server downtime, and enable a seamless migration to a standard Linux distribution over an extended period of time. Through the Microsoft and Novell interoperability partnership, Infracom saw the value of migrating from Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server from Novell with Expanded Support. With the Novell solution, Infracom had the peace of mind they needed to begin a migration to SUSE Linux Enterprise, without compromising the uptime and support of their existing RHEL servers. The new solution has created greater reliability and interoperability to better support the company's business-critical operations and make them more scalable for future growth as they move to a single management console. The Microsoft and Novell interoperability partnership provides intellectual property protection to Microsoft Linux support Certificate program customers, allowing Infracom to minimize its IP risk and remain focused on delivering world class products and services to its customers.

       <b>Situation</b> 
       <br />Infracom hosts data and outsources server space to medium-sized business throughout Italy, in a data center consisting of 50 physical servers running on RHEL, and 70 virtualized servers. System uptime and data security are key factors in keeping their business up and running and protecting the important and sensitive data of their clients. To increase the efficiency and security of its data center, and reduce management complexity, Infracom developed a roadmap with a long-term goal of upgrading its hardware and deploying a unified management console. The risk of downtime during migration however, was impacting their progress. The opportunity to migrate the company's Red Hat Linux operating systems over to SUSE Linux Enterprise Server was an appealing solution, allowing the company to reap the benefits of the Microsoft and Novell interoperability partnership, and the ongoing support benefits available through SUSE Linux Enterprise Server with Expanded Support.
       <br />       <b>Solution</b> 
       <br />Infracom worked with Novell to upgrade its data center infrastructure and to begin standardizing its Linux environment on SUSE Linux Enterprise Server. With the new solution, Infracom will eventually be fully migrated to SUSE Linux, and will be able to deploy a unified management console. This will allow IT administrators to manage their physical and virtual infrastructure from one console, reducing complexity and allowing them to manage the mixed environment more efficiently, while increasing productivity and enhancing flexibility.
       <br />With SUSE Linux Enterprise Server with Expanded Support, Infracom benefits from extended support of its new SUSE Linux Enterprise environment, as well as its existing RHEL systems. SUSE Linux Enterprise Server with Expanded Support helped Infracom begin a seamless migration from other Linux distributions, and includes technical support for their existing Linux deployments, including RHEL, during a three-year period as they transition from other vendors to SUSE Linux Enterprise. The extended support provides Infracom the peace of mind that the migration to SUSE Linux Enterprise will be seamless, and the company's existing servers will experience no downtime in the interim, ensuring clients' data remains safe and secure.

<h2>The University Hospital of Würzburg Simplifies Novell Identity Management with eControl's Centralised User Administration</h2>

<h3 style="margin-top: 0px;">Overview</h3>
 The <link http://www.uk-wuerzburg.de/ _blank>University Hospital of Würzburg</link> consists of four integrated clinical institutes that comprise 19 hospitals with 87 units and 8 intensive care units. In addition, the University Hospital is affiliated with six vocational healthcare schools (nursing, pediatric nursing, midwifery, physiotherapy, dieticians and massage). Each year, approximately 50,000 patients receive medical treatment in the facility and 180,000 receive out-patient care.<br /><br /> To deliver this level of healthcare, the University Hospital of Würzburg uses multiple IT applications across <strong>distributed Microsoft and Novell networks</strong>. The Hospital's Medical Informatics Service Centre includes 50 staff members who are resonsible for management and supervision, network equipment, systems, SAP administration processes, SAP clinical processes, and other service and support activities. All of these employees are part of the helpdesk team. Two employees take care of user administration for approximately 5,000 IT workplaces that are used by 6,000 staff. <br /><br /> The University Hospital of Würzburg implemented <link http://www.omni-ts.com/web-management/ _blank>eControl</link> from <link http://www.omni-ts.com/ _blank>Omni</link> to centrally manage a large number of user identities and accounts. eControl has <strong>replaced Microsoft Management Console, iManager and ConsoleOne for managing user accounts across mixed and multiple Microsoft and Novell networks</strong> from a single web-based interface, accessible from any browser. Account updates can be carried out quickly and easily by front-line staff who have very little technical knowledge of Microsoft or Novell systems. The network also includes managed systems such as Siemens DirX (telephony system) and several SAP systems (SAP-HR, SAP-KIS, SAP-BW). 
<h3>The Challenge</h3>
Using Microsoft Management Console, iManager and ConsoleOne to manage more than 6,000 user accounts across diverse systems and with a large number of possible attributes and properties was a time-consuming task. <strong>The University Hospital of Würzburg needed a unified interface that delivered centralised role-based administration across all systems.</strong> <br /><br /> &quot;With eControl, we finally have a <strong>unified, cross-platform management tool</strong> that allows us to make individual or bulk changes in our systems without losing any of the functionality of the native administration applications,&quot; said Andreas Thiele, Assistant Director of Systems, Identity Management and Infrastructure at the University Hospital of Würzburg. &quot;eControl provides role-based access to all our Microsoft and Novell accounts and attributes without having to give users any administrator rights or access to complex tools.&quot; <br /><br />&quot;Naturally, security plays an important role at any University Hospital. eControl satisfies all our security rules and requirements,&quot; continued Mr. Thiele. &quot;<link http://www.omni-ts.com/web-management/audit.html _blank>eControl's Audit and Reporting</link>, in fact, provides a full audit log of all changes made in our systems for administrator oversight.&quot;

<div> <strong>eControl Manage:</strong>&nbsp; &nbsp;<link http://www.omni-ts.com/web-management/manage.html _blank>eControl Manage</link> simplifies and centralises administration of user accounts, security and distribution groups, and other directory-based objects without having to assign any administrator or special access rights. eControl’s Web 2.0 interface is very intuitive and does not require any user training. <br /><br /> <strong>eControl Create:</strong>&nbsp; Non-IT employees from departments like HR or the front office can use <link http://www.omni-ts.com/web-management/create.html _blank>eControl Create</link> to create user accounts based on pre-configured profiles across Microsoft and Novell platforms – with no administrator rights or special permissions required. <br /><br /> <strong>eControl Self-Service:</strong>&nbsp; In short, <link http://www.omni-ts.com/web-management/self-service.html _blank>eControl Self-Service</link> allows end-users to reset their own password in Active Directory / Exchange and eDirectory / GroupWise and to carry out other routine self-service tasks. </div>
<h3>The Results</h3>
&quot;After we began searching for a unified identity management solution, our IT partner, Maintainet AG, made us aware of eControl,&quot; said Mr. Thiele.  &quot;We implemented eControl on our own without any problems,&quot; continued Mr. Thiele. &quot;We leveraged existing hardware and no programming was required to complete the implementation. User adoption and satisfaction have been very good because minimal to no training is required for front-line staff. 			<content:encoded><![CDATA[Chelmsford College Passes Security Test With Astaro<br /><br />Astaro’s new ASG 625 all-in-one security appliance provides secure network protection, web single sign-on and content filtering for over 5,500 staff and students<br /><br />Reading, UK – 23rd July 2009 – Astaro (http://www.astaro.com), the leading network security appliance vendor, today announced that Chelmsford College has implemented its new all-in-one security appliance to protect its IT network, covering over 5,000 students and 500 staff. The ASG 625 is providing both network security and content filtering services to the College, and is the latest addition to Astaro’s range of appliances.<br /><br />Chelmsford College provides further and higher education services and support to its students. The College has three sites, which are linked by dedicated connections back to its main data centre where a 100 Megabit leased line is in place to connect to the Internet. In total there are around 40 servers across the network, as well as over 1,000 desktop PCs that are used by students and staff. Its previous security solution was not meeting its requirements, particularly around content filtering. When it came to the end of the system’s support contract, Philip Lock, Network Systems Manager at Chelmsford College decided to look at alternatives.<br /><br />“Our requirements are quite straightforward: we wanted our IT assets to be protected, as well as ensuring that students adhere to our IT usage policies. Secondly, any solution that we chose would have to help us make the most of the Internet connection we have in place,” said Lock. “We trialled a number of hardware and software options to provide our security and content filtering, and the Astaro appliance was both extremely easy to use and provided the performance levels that we expected.”<br /><br />Astaro’s ASG 625 is the largest in the range of all-in-one security appliances that the company provides, including a deep packet inspection firewall, Intrusion Prevention, anti-virus, IPSec and SSL VPN support, email encryption and web content filtering. The ASG 625 scales up to support over 4,000 concurrent users with the firewall throughput rate of up to 9 Gigabit per second. Redundant hot-swappable hard disks and power supplies help ensure high availability, as does the ability to run appliances in clustered environments.<br /><br />“Since completing our implementation, the ASG 625 has delivered on its promise. An unreliable backup system was putting the IT resources and critical data at Eaton Rapids Public Schools at risk. The District had attempted over the course of 16 months to stabilize its backup of Novell Open Enterprise Server Clusters, SUSE Linux Enterprise Servers running XEN with multiple guest servers and Microsoft Windows Servers connected to a Storage-Area-Network (SAN) without sustained success.
<b>Overview</b>
Located in mid-central Michigan, Eaton Rapids Public Schools has 2,800 students and 250 staff. The district had recently installed multiple Novell OES Clusters connected to a SAN. The District was initially using Symantec´s Backup Exec but moved to Syncsort´s Backup Express in order to backup the Linux clusters.
<b>Challenge</b>
The District needed to improve performance, add effective migration tools, upgrade SAN interfaces and improve fail-over capability. To accomplish all of this the District upgraded their Novell Open Enterprise Server Release 1 (OES1) software to OES2. Once the upgrade was completed, the District received the benefits it was expecting but the ability to backup their OES2 environment with Syncsort Backup Express was a complete failure. They couldn’t backup OES2 clusters.
<b>SEP sesam Solution</b>
The District worked diligently with Syncsort engineers to continue to use Backup Express but after 6 weeks without a backup the situation was dire, there was no progress. Something had to be done. On the recommendation of a trusted advisor, Mike Grady, President of Gracon Services, Inc. of Okemos, Mi, they switched to SEP´s sesam backup software.
“After a few startup issues and a brief learning curve, we were able to backup our OES2 cluster servers consistently and reliably. This corrected the problem we had with Syncsort Backup (BEX) Express.” according to Lyne Roberts, the previous IT Director.
<b>Results</b>
Eaton Rapids Public Schools switched their backup solution from Syncsort Backup Express to SEP sesam software to save time and money. The District is now able to backup their entire enterprise OES2 with NSS volumes, Windows 2003 Servers with its NTFS file system and SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 10 with ext3 and REISER file systems.
“After the installation of SEP sesam Eaton Rapids finally had reliable backups for their entire environment for the first time in weeks. Something prior vendors just couldn’t do,” stated Mr. Grady, Gracon Services, Inc. a Platinum Reseller for SEP.
“After training by Gracon personnel, our staff has been able to completely manage all of the District’s backup and restore functions with confidence”, said Linda Beachnau, current IT Director at the Eaton Rapids.
“We calculated that the District will save over 50% of its initial investment in Backup Express by moving to SEP sesam backup software. The acquisition cost is much lower than BEX and the ongoing maintenance cost is even less,” according to Mr. Grady. “Added to the simplicity and ease of use of SEP sesam, the District will continue to benefit from the new backup software platform for years to come. Fewer administrative resources are required and several District staff have been trained to provide oversight for the backup processes,” stated Grady.]]></content:encoded>

Løsningen samler en tidligere spredt organisationsstruktur, gør oprettelse af nye brugere hurtigere, forenkler applikations-login, forbedrer sikkerhed og kontrollerbarhed samt frigør tusindvis af mandetimer hvert år. 
Steria - førende it-serviceleverandør i Europa - har arbejdet tæt sammen med Region Midtjylland om at designe og implementere en identitetsstyrings- og sikkerhedsadministrationsløsning.<br />&nbsp;<br />Løsningen indeholder bl.a. skræddersyede, rollebaserede workflows til brugeradministrationen - et område, hvor netop Steria er anerkendt som førende leverandør og sparringspartner: <br />&nbsp;<br />&quot;Et af Sterias nøgleområder har i mange år været levering af workflowløsninger. Og Region Midtjylland havde især behov for at opbygge en ensartet, centraliseret identitetsstyringsarkitektur, så medarbejderne kunne få sikker adgang til fælles tjenester og data. <br />&nbsp;<br />De lokale hospitaler og institutioner varetager selv egne brugere, men for de nye fælles it-systemer var arbejdsgangene med en betydelig manuel administration ikke effektive nok til den nye organisation. <br />&nbsp;<br /><b>Resultater, der giver mulighed for at rykke hurtigere</b><br />Region Midtjyllands administration vurderer at kunne reducere den tid, der går med brugeradministration med 70 pct. ved brug af den nye løsning. Det vil frigøre tusindvis af mandetimer hvert år og samtidig øge servicekvaliteten. Desuden holder løsningen omkostningerne nede og tilvejebringer meget højere kvalitet med øjeblikkelig adgang til systemerne - &quot;i stedet for, at brugerne må vente i flere dage&quot;, som det hedder. <br /><b>&nbsp;</b><br />Løsningen har også forbedret sikkerheden, fordi den sørger for, at tidligere medarbejdere automatisk mister deres adgangsrettigheder. Samtidig har den detaljerede logs til kontrolformål, hvilket giver Region Midtjyllands ledere et klart billede af deres medarbejderes adgangsrettigheder og aktiviteter - og er således med til at give tættere relationer mellem forretningen og it-funktionen. <br />&nbsp;<br />Region Midtjyllands løsning, der er designet og implementeret af Steria, bygger på anvendelse af Novell Identity Manager. ]]></content:encoded>

<i>PRESSEMEDDELELSE</i><br /><br />København den 23. februar 2007<br /><br /><b>Undgå overbelastede websites</b><br /><br />Tusinder og atter tusinder gæster på centrale, danske websites om transport og vejr må gå forgæves, netop når opdateret information er allermest nødvendig. Det er resultatet, når vejret skaber kaos, og informationsudbyderne ikke har skalerbare systemer; men sådan behøver det ikke at være. Virksomheder og myndigheder kan nemt sikre adgang til deres websites – også under snekaos og storm af forespørgsler.<br /><br />Netop som alle står og skal bruge oplysninger om vejr- og transportsituationen, giver webserverne op. Alt for mange forespørgsler nedlægger serverne til frustration og ærgrelse for både brugere og de udbydere af data, som har det som deres vigtigste opgave at sikre tilgængelighed til kritiske data på Internettet.<br />Situationen opstår med jævne mellemrum. Nogle brancher har lært lektien og har implementeret teknologi, som kan håndtere et pludseligt, voldsomt stigende antal besøgende. Det gælder eksempelvis i Rejsebranchen. DTF-Travel har flere end 100.000 betalende brugere, som jævnligt deltager i onlineauktioner om nedsatte rejser. Når en ny rejse bliver lagt på sitet www.dtf-travel.dk, skaber det voldsom trafik:<br />”Vores løsning har været at installere en Coyote Point Equalizer, der fordeler trafikken jævnt over flere servere. Den har de seneste to år været en trofast allieret, når vi eksempelvis oplever 10.000 brugere samtidigt,” fortæller Kim Snejbjerg, IT-chef hos DTF-Travel.<br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br /><b> Skalerbare systemer fjerner flaskehalse &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </b><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; ”Mange offentlige og andre informationsudbydere benytter ikke skalerbare systemer. Når Internettet i krisesituationer bliver den absolut vigtigste informationskilde, så opstår problemerne. Fra beløb under 30.000 kr. kan man implementere en teknologi, der gør, at man undgår den situation,” siger Bjarke Alling fra Liga – dansk grossist inden for kommerciel open source software.<br />Når et websites oppe- og svartid er en yderst kritisk faktor, sikrer Coyote Point Equalizer, at der altid er en webserver tilgængelig for brugeren. Equalizer undersøger, hvilken server i netværket der er mindst belastet, og dirigerer forespørgslen til den maskine. Fordi Equalizer på en intelligent måde tildeler forespørgsler, kan alle servere i netværket arbejde på deres maksimale kapacitet. Det betyder, at der ikke er nogen servere, som bare står standby, mens andre har for meget at lave. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br /><b> Fordeling af trafik – når der er brug for det &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; </b><br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; Med Equalizer kan man let bygge højt tilgængelige, fejltolerante websites. Når Equalizer opdager, at en enkel server er overbelastet, vil trafik automatisk blive omdirigeret til de øvrige servere. For 100 pct. redundans kan en anden Equalizer blive konfigureret som backup-enhed. I praksis betyder det, at man i en krisesituation kan fordele den aktuelle trafik mellem flere datacentre.<br />”Man kan forestille sig, at man dagen inden en forudsigelig snestorm aktiverer sine beredskabsservere. Når trafikken når maksimum i det ene datacenter, så ledes forespørgslerne bare videre til det andet. Man kan også benytte de servere, som ellers bruges til Intranet, storage eller andet som nødberedskab,” siger Bjarke Alling. Han mener, at teknologien er kendt blandt IT-folket, men investeringen bliver som regel udskudt, indtil det er for sent – som i dag. &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; <br />&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; &nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;
