Avira management solutions
Administration of Avira via their own SMC, Novell ZENworks or Microsoft SCCM
All major installations need a central point of administration for each device. Avira AntiVir alloes you to easily manage the product in at least three different ways.
Using Novell ZENworks Configuration Management
If you wish to use Avira AntiVir software in a network without using the Avira Security Management Center, Liga Distribution recommends the following setup:
For deployment, configuration, reconfiguration, and updates, we recommend Novell ZENworks Configuration Management. The following guide will enable the use of Novell ZENworks Management to set up a complete system of installation and configuration, since it can distribute software, execute commands, etc. on the devices via its agent.
Udates of the Avira clients with software updates and pattern files can be run from an internal update server, to avoid all clients straining the Internet connection. For this purpose, we recommend using the Avira Internet Update Manager (IUM) which can be installed on both Windows and Linux servers and can be downloaded from Aviras download site. This server is a stand-alone product and does not require any other Avira products. The clients are configured to consider this IUM server as their "Priority Server", to ensure that they always get updates and patterns from it, whenever it is accessible.
For surveillance of status of the anti-virus clients we recommend using Novell Sentinel Log Manager which is released in a free version in the beginning of 2011.
