Novell is pleased to announce simplified pricing and packaging for Novell's business Service Management Solution.

Product Information
Novell Operations Center is the new name for the current Novell Business Service Management 4.7 solution.  The previous Managed Objects and Novell Business Service Management part numbers will remain available for the existing Managed Objects customers and the Novell Operations Center part numbers will be used for all new business. 

The next release will have an updated branding, as well as an updated look and feel.  This announcement is a pricing and packaging of the current Novell Business Service Management 4.7 solution only.

Packaging
The pricing and packaging has been simplified to reflect simplified project-based packages and the more comprehensive Business Service Management solution.  Licensing remains the same regarding servers, client users and Integration Modules with less part numbers.  The following is an overview of the packages:

Novell Operations Center - the Engine will include:

• All Novell Product Integration Modules
• All Novell Integration Tools (e.g., Database Integration, SNMP, etc.)
• Unlimited Dashboard users
• 10 Client Console users
• Dashboards (formerly myMO)
• Service Configuration Manager (formerly Business Service Configuration Manager; previously included in Novell CMDB 360)

Novell Operations Center for Monitoring

• One production Server Engine license
• Event Manager
• Experience Manager
• One 3rd Party Integration Module

Novell Operations Center for Mapping

• One Production Server Engine license
• Configuration Management System (formerly myCMDB)
• One 3rd Party Integration Module

Novell Operations Center for Measuring

• One Production Server Engine license
• Service Level Manager
• One 3rd Party Integration Module

Novell Operations Center

• One Production Server Engine license
• One Non-Production Server Engine license
• Event Manager
• Experience Manager
• Configuration Management System
• Service Level Manager
• Three 3rd Party Integration Modules

There are part numbers for Non-Production servers for both the full Novell Operations Center and for the project-based packages at 50% off.  The Non-Production server always mimics the Production server and there is no longer a requirement to double purchase components for both environments.

The simplification provides smaller entry points, the ability to grow into Business Service Management (or start there) with the only add-on options being additional client users, Integration Modules and server licenses.

Upgrade Details
This announcement includes part numbers that provide upgrade credit for starting with a project package, with or without the addition of a Non-Production server license, and upgrade to full Novell Operations Center capability.
