Novell is pleased to announce the availability of Novell SecureLogin 7.0 SP1 to all customers worldwide.

Product Information
Novell SecureLogin (NSL) protects corporate information and boosts employee productivity by solving the problem of password proliferation. It allows users to sign-on to multiple systems with a single user name and password. NSL enforces proof of identity and strict credential management, ensuring that only authorized users can access information. NSL helps customers with password audits, temporal application access control, and system-level account access delegation.

With NSL, organizations can improve network security and productivity, reduce administrative costs and support regulatory compliance.

NSL provides complete credential portability and granular application of policies by leveraging a range of directories as the primary data store. These include Novell eDirectory, Microsoft Active Directory, Microsoft Active Directory Application Mode (ADAM), Sun Java Directory Server and OpenLDAP. Key benefits include:

• NSL client side event service, allows for a highly scalable deployment, and is able to push windows events to any syslog compatible server
• Client Login Extension (CLE) integration with Novell Secure Login:
• Client Login Extension provides a "Forgotten Password" link on the GINA or a Credential Provider in case of Windows 7 and Vista.  This link allows access to a password self service portal via a restricted browser.  Any password self service portal, including the one provided as part of IDM User Application is compatible.  Client Login Extension is available to all customers of Novell SecureLogin, Novell Identity Manager, and Novell Access Manager.  The current integration will provide customers:
  • NSL CredProvider on Vista and Windows 7 and NSL GINA on XP with support for CLE
  • Desktop Automation Service screen cover lock with NSL GINA or NSL credential provider with support for CLE
  • Locked workstation prompt on a Novell SecureLogin desktop will support CLE with:
  • Novell Client on Windows XP
  • Novell SecureLogin on Windows XP and Vista
  • Native MS GINA on Windows XP
  • Novell Client Credential Provider on Vista & Windows 7 supports CLE Link
