Novell is pleased to announce the availability of Sentinel Log Manager 1.2, a free limited version of Novell Sentinel Log Manager (SLM) and an update to SLM 1.1, to customers worldwide.

Product Information
Novell Sentinel Log Manager 1.2 is a free version of Sentinel Log Manager  with many of the features of the paid, enterprise version.  The free version collects up to 25 events per second (EPS) with no trial period or time limit – just stay under the EPS limit and you can keep using it forever.  To support higher EPS rates or enable enterprise features, you can simply upgrade and activate a higher EPS level by purchasing 500-, 2500-, or 7500-EPS versions of Sentinel Log Manager.

Sentinel Log Manager puts all the information in your log files at your fingertips, making it easy to collect, search, and report on log data. With support for full indexing of any data from any source, and parsing for most systems and devices, Sentinel Log Manager brings the best of unstructured searching and structured drill-down search into events and taxonomy. Support for 25 EPS Users
There is no formal support offered for the 25 EPS version.  While a community forum will be available to provide limited support, formal support can be attained by purchasing a 500-, 2,500-, or 7,500-EPS version of Sentinel Log Manager.

Pricing
Sentinel Log Manager 1.2 offers a free version of SLM 25 for all customers. Please see the accompanying spreadsheet for complete pricing information on SLM 500-, 2500-, 7500-EPS.

Licensing
Sentinel Log Manager will continue to be licensed on an instance basis as Software or a Software Appliance.

Upgrade Details
Customers with current maintenance on SLM 1.1 are entitled to SLM 1.2.
