Discontinuation of Novell Sentinel 6.1 Rapid Deployment
Novell announces the discontinuation of Novell Sentinel 6.1 Rapid Deployment Base Package and Non-Production Server License and License + Maintenance part numbers to all customers worldwide. Customers may now purchase and/or upgrade to Novell Sentinel 7.0 (see NPA 7258-7261). Customers with current entitlement to Novell Sentinel 6.1 Rapid Deployment Base Package and/or Non-Production Servers (i.e., existing Sentinel 6.1 Rapid Deployment customers) who wish to purchase additional servers should contact their sales representative for assistance.

Part numbers usually purchased simultaneously with Sentinel 6.1 Rapid Deployment servers, e.g., Type I-V Devices, Smart Plug-ins, PCI-DSS Solution Packs and Exploit Detection & Advisor Subscriptions remain fully availabe to all customers and are unaffected by the Sentinel 6.1 Rapid Deployment discontinuation.

Product Information
With the release of Sentinel 7.0, Novell has begun the End-of-Life process for Sentinel 6.1 Rapid Deployment. Sentinel 6.1 Rapid Deployment License and License + Maintenance part numbers will be removed from Novell price lists effective 31 October 2011. Maintenance part numbers will remain available for customers who desire to continue to use and maintain Sentinel 6.1 Rapid Deployment as well as upgrade to Sentinel 7.0. It is anticipated that an upgrade path to Sentinel 7.0 will become available in the first quarter of 2012 for customers that have entitlement to Sentinel 6.1 Rapid Deployment via their purchase of Compliance Management Platform.
