* SEP releases “Bare System Recovery for Linux”
With the release of „SEP sesam Bare System Recovery for Linux“ SEP AG further enhances its backup and recovery software portfolio to provide a fast and secure methodology for system administrators to recover from a major hardware failure.

„Time is money!“ But add to the old adage “lost time equals lost money” – when a company suffers disk drive or computer failure losses in both time and money begin to mount. For many small to medium sized businesses the addition of disaster recovery software to their backup strategies was cost prohibitive, not anymore. With the immediate release of SEP’s BSR, disaster recovery planning down to bare metal recovery can now be realized for any enterprise.

* SEP sesam monitoring with Nagios
SEP partner Netways has developed a Nagios plugin for SEP sesam as OpenSource. You can download and use this for free.

* Technical Tips: Media Migration
There is a new wiki article on data migration. SEP sesam 3.6 manages data migration orders in a new and separate menu item. With a few mouse clicks, now you can move or copy data from one medium to another. For example, to combine incremental backups on a single media, to transfer HDD backups to tape, or to migrate older tapes (eg, LTO 3) to a current tape format.
