Avira Internet Security 2012 og Avira Free Antivirus er valgt som bedste Antivirus pakke og bedste gratis Antivirus pakke i Forbrugerrådets TÆNKs test af 18 Antivirus programmer 

Avira Free Antivirus klarede sig bedre end 10 konkurrerende betalingsprogrammer i TÆNKs test

København, Danmark, 19. april, 2012 – IT-sikkerhedseksperten Avira har med produkterne Internet Security 2012 og Avira Free Antivirus været på testbænken sammen med 18 andre antivirusprogrammer. De to antivirusprodukter fra Avira fik betegnelsen ”bedste pakke i testen” og ”Bedste gratis – nok til de fleste”, i testen deltog 18 antivirus programmer fra flere leverandører, hvoraf de 14 var betalingsprogrammer og 4 kom som gratisprodukter.

Avira og Avira's danske distributør Liga Distribution er naturligvis meget tilfredse med Avira Internet Security 2012 og Avira Free Antivirus meget fine placering, der ses som et udtryk for Aviras tilgang til at løse den store udfordring, det er at skabe tryghed og brugervenlighed for Aviras kunder og brugere. "Vores vejledende filosofi i designet af vores 2012 sikkerhedssoftware var "less is more" - som er sådan, vi giver forbrugerne og de små virksomheder mere sikkerhedsbeskyttelse - altså med færre manuelle konfigurationer og færre beslutninger at træffe, "siger Sorin Mustaca, produktchef og datasikkerhedsekspert hos Avira.

Aviras sikkerhedssoftware beskytter mere end 100 millioner mennesker over hele verden ved at opdage og fjerne de nyeste malware; afskærmer kunder mod virus, orme, rootkits, botnets, identitetstyveri og svindel og andre trusler på internettet. Avira software har endda yderligere øget detektionsraterne ved at fange særlig malware, der skjuler sig for almindelige antivirus-software. Nye opdagelsesmekanismer finder slyngelstaternes kode, der tit skjuler sig dybt inde i operativsystemet.

Ud over en enklere grænseflade, smartere kode, og stærkere afsløring af vira, fokuserer Avira 2012 også på støtte ved at tilføje live Customer Support til alle premium-produkter. Hvis brugerne løber ind i problemer, kan de tilsluttes direkte til en teknisk supportingeniør, der vil løse problemerne i realtid via internettet ved hjælp af Aviras nye Team Viewer funktion.

 SUSE har planer om at udrulle information og aktiviteter, der fremhæver, hvordan virksomheden har udviklet sig fra sin spæde start i open source-industrien, og har planer om at skabe partnerskaber med verdens førende teknologileverandører med henblik på at levere innovation, beskyttelse af kundernes investeringer og økonomisk overkommeligt enterprise software til en helt ny generation af kunder.

SUSEs rødder går tilbage til september 1992, hvor tre tyske universitetsstuderende i matematik og en nyligt uddannet softwareudvikler skabte virksomheden, der skulle udvikle software samt fungere som en rådgivende Unix-gruppe. Da gruppen så potentialet i Linux, besluttede gruppen at distrubuere Linux som operativsystem samt tilbyde supportservice. Alliancemilepæle
SUSEs historie er karakteriseret ved flere stærke partnerskaber med andre virksomheder i industrien, som forsat trives og udvikles. I 1999 dannede SUSE og IBM et samarbejde, der førte til flere fremadrettede projekter – et af de vigtigste var at portere Linux operativ system til mainframe. Et år senere var SUSE den eneste virksomhed, der kunne tilbyde Linux til IBM mainframes som var enterprise parat og kommercielt supported. I dag fortsætter samarbejdet og hjælper kunder til at maksimere udnyttelsen og minimere udgifterne i deres heterogene og miksede IT-miljøer. SUSE fortsætter udbyggelsen af aktive partnerskaber med andre ledende globale teknologi-virksomheder som AMD, DELL, Fujitsu, HP, Intel, Oracle og Wmware, der har resulteret i hjælp til løsning af kunders komplekse IT-udfordringer. 
 

Produktmilepæle
I 1944 leverede SUSE sin første Linux-distribution – S.u.S.E Linux 1.0. Næste betydelige produkt lancering fulgte i 1996 med udgivelsen af ​​SuSE Linux 4.2, den første version der alene var udviklet af SUSE. I 2000 introducerede SUSE, SUSE ® Linux Enterprise Server, et serveroperativsystem rettet mod erhvervskunder – og den første globalt distribuerede og fuldt understøttede Linux-styresystem til enterprise produktionsmiljøer.

I sin 20-årige historie har SUSE gennemgået to markante ændring af ejerforholdene. SuSE Linux AG blev opkøbt af Novell, Inc. i begyndelsen af 2004. Syv år senere blev Novell overtaget af The Attachmate Group, som genetablerede SUSE som en selvstændig forretningsenhed med fokus på nytænkning, smart innovation og varige kunde-og partnerrelationer. 

I to årtier har SUSE bragt Linux ud til en bred vifte af kunder, herunder London Stock Exchange, BMW, Walgreens, SONY, Sesame Workshop og Office Depot. Product Information
 Long Term Service Pack Support (LTSS) for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1 extends the benefits offered through a SUSE Linux Enterprise Server subscription by providing critical security updates for existing workloads after the end of support for SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1 for up to three additional years.   

With LTSS, customers will continue to receive L1 and L2 support from SUSE, which enables them to receive proactive updates and fixes for critical security issues as well as updates and fixes for critical bug fixes.  

 

LTSS for SUSE Linux Enterprise 11 SP1 also entitles customers to receive technical support for all L3 supported packages, including individual bug fixes. 

 

This offering enables customers to continue to receive support for their current SUSE Linux Enterprise Server 11 SP1 workloads without making changes to their long-running systems, thereby reducing the risks and costs associated with system changes, and operating an unsupported environment. 

 

 

 

Licensing
 Long Term Service Pack Support is licensed per architecture and per codestream/service pack of SUSE Linux Enterprise Server per year.   

 In order to purchase LTSS, customers must have current SUSE Linux Enterprise Server subscriptions (Standard or Priority) for those servers that will be covered by this offering.

Novell is pleased to announce an update for part description for Sentinel-Related Accessory to all customers worldwide.

 

 With the release of Sentinel 7, the version numbers in the part descriptions for the Sentinel-related accessories such as Smart Plug-ins, Collector Types, and Exploit Detection & Advisor Subscription will be removed since these accessories function with various versions of Sentinel including: Sentinel 6.1, Sentinel 7 and Sentinel Rapid Deployment. The goal of removing the version numbers is to clarify the accessories' compatibility with various version of Sentinel, thus reducing partner and customer confusion.

For example, if a customer has active SnS contracts on 100 licenses of a qualified vSphere Enterprise Plus SnS SKU, that customer would receive SUSE Linux Enterprise Server for VMware with one hundred (100) entitlements for subscription to patches and updates. The Subscription Management Tool for SUSE Linux Enterprise (SMT) establishes a proxy system with repository and registration targets. This helps centrally manage software updates locally within the firewall on a per system basis, while maintaining corporate security policies and regulatory compliance. SMT allows for the automated tracking of SUSE Linux Enterprise subscription entitlements providing an easier and more accurate process. Through its integration with the SUSE web-based customer portal, NCC, SMT ensures that each device can receive its appropriate updates without the need to open the firewall, and without any redundant bandwidth requirements. This update to SMT will include improvements to repository handling, a patch-access API used by third-party integrators, and support for de-duplicating package copies via hardlinks.
